About Our Local American Red Cross Chapter and You

Red Cross volunteer comes to the rescue

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Last year, almost one million volunteers helped victims of nearly 75,000 disasters, trained millions in first aid and CPR, helped U.S. service members and their families stay connected, and collected lifesaving blood from almost 4 million donors.

Last year, right here in Northeast Louisiana communities, your chapter:

  • Responded to 112 home fires
  • Distributed over 6,900 preparedness information items reaching over 6,000 individuals
  • Provided weekly entertainment and refreshments to residents in 4 nursing homes
  • Trained 4,265 individuals in schools, businesses, and community groups in first aid, CPR, and aquatic programs.

In order to provide services like these, your local Red Cross needs your help. The Red Cross relies solely on the support of generous people like you. Your financial gift ensures that the Red Cross will be able to provide assistance whenever and wherever it is needed—across the street, around the clock, and around the world.

WHEN YOU GIVE TO THE RED CROSS, YOU GIVE BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY
